Students, management representatives of Belgorod State University, members of the labor union «Pravda» and guests of honor: a Hero of Russia Oleg Dukanov, the assistant to the deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Aleksandr Karelin, the famous fighter Alexey Kolesnikov, the deputy chief of Department of Internal and Personnel Policies of region – the head of physical training and sports department of region Oleg Serdyukov etc attended the official opening of Greco-Roman wrestling hall which is situated on Studencheskaya street.

Rector of BelSU, professor Oleg Polukhin addressed all attendees emphasizing that the university creates all conditions for students’ sport activities. He noted that Belgorod State University keep glorious track of sports records, having brought up winners of the World Cups, Europe and the Olympic Games.

"I am sure that the new gym will give an impulse for development of martial arts not only at our university, but also in the city", − Oleg Polukhin said.

The assistant to the deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Alexey Kolesnikov highly appreciated a contribution of the Belgorod region to the Russian sport. He said that The Belgorod region now will be well-known not only for volleyball players and gymnasts, but also for fighters. The chairman of interregional cross-industry labor union «Pravda» Sergey Fuglayev thanked Rector of BelSU Oleg Polukhin for work made by the university in the sphere of physical training and sport.
