Sponsorship for the event came from the Universities themselves (Moscow, Kursk, Orel, Smolensk, Voronezh, Belgorod, and Moscow and Belgorod Regions), the Local Belgorod TV channel, and the regional branch of the Russian Union of Martial Arts (RUMA). Funding was also available as BNRU won a grant from the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh) Youth Resource Centre, specifically to host the 2018 tournament.

Dr Svetlana Ostrikova, BNRU's Vice-Rector for ��è��Ƶal Affairs and Youth Policy, thanked the competitors for coming to the tournament, and helping with its organisation. She commented on the culture that studying martial arts instils, and the dedication of the coaching staff. She wished them all well, and hoped that they would all go on to develop a mastery of their chosen sport.

In all, 170 students received certificates and medals, which were awarded by the Vice-Rector and Oleg Beketov, head of the Belgorod branch of RUMA, and the competition's Chief Referee.
