Belgorod State University was visited by Honorary Doctor of Medicine, Radiology Professor Rainer Kurt Rienmüller, Gerhard Wolfgang Zienwald, member of the German Cancer Society, and Valery Bolgov, Director for Regional Development of Zienwald LLC.

During the meeting with the University Rector Oleg Polukhin, the possibility of cooperation with leading representatives of the medical community of Austria and Germany in the field of educational and scientific activities was discussed.

Honorary Doctor of Medicine, professor of radiology, former head of the department of general diagnostic radiology at the Medical University of Graz in Austria, and currently a visiting professor at European and Russian universities and scientific consultant at the Moscow Cancer Research Center Rainer Kurt Rienmüller noted that the Belgorod State University has a modern scientific and technical base, high innovative potential, which allows to develop international cooperation and provides an opportunity to form an international scientific and educational platform for training highly qualified specialists in oncology for health care in Russia and other countries.

Gerhard Wolfgang Zienwald, a member of the German Cancer Society, spoke about the modern highly effective method of treating oncological diseases with the help of a microwave system of deep regional hyperthermia.

In turn, the rector of Belgorod State University Oleg Polukhin noted that a federal project is currently being implemented in Russia to counteract the development of cancer.

The parties discussed the possibility of creating a research and education center on the basis of the BelSU together with leading European universities, which will train specialists who are familiar with modern methods of treating oncology.
