The award ceremony for the winners of the VI International Reciters’ Competition, titled “Victory in the Hearts of Generations,” took place at the Hall of Fame in the Victory Museum in Moscow.
A student from the preparatory department of Belgorod National Research University (BelSU), Sango Abdul Gaffar, alongside Natalia Girenko, a teaching assistant at the BelSU Department of Russian Language, Professional Speech, and Intercultural Communication, received a third-degree diploma and a letter of gratitude from the Russian Committee for Solidarity and Cooperation with the Peoples of Asia and Africa. This recognition came as a result of their participation in the competition, which featured students and postgraduates from Asian and African countries.
Over 40 international students and postgraduates from 22 countries were honoured as winners and prize-winners in this creative competition. The jury assessed the contestants’ collective and individual performances across various categories, taking into account their fields of study and levels of proficiency in Russian. Notably, students from the Commonwealth of Independent States were placed in a separate group due to their higher proficiency in the language.
All winners were invited to an excursion in St. Petersburg. Natalia Girenko expressed her delight at this being her first time applying for her students to participate in a competition, especially since they achieved a prize right away.
“The 'Victory in the Hearts of Generations’ competition serves as a platform for strengthening international ties and cultural exchange. It allows foreign students and postgraduates from around the world to showcase their proficiency in the Russian language and culture while also learning about Russia's history and traditions,” shared Girenko.
The trip to St. Petersburg offered participants a wonderful opportunity to explore one of Russia’s most beautiful cities. They visited renowned museums, monuments, and attractions, all while soaking in the unique atmosphere of the city situated along the Neva River.
