The holiday commemorating the anniversary of the Organization of African Unity, which was founded by 30 African leaders on May 25, 1963, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, was celebrated with a vibrant three-day festival at Belgorod State University.
The first day of the festival was dedicated to sports, featuring spirited competitions in football and basketball between African students from Belgorod State University and Shukhov Belgorod State Technological University.
On the second day, students showcased their countries through engaging presentations, accompanied by an art exhibition displaying their creative works.
The festival culminated on the third and final day with a lively concert. Students from the African community, along with guests from Shukhov University and Gorin Belgorod State Agricultural University, delighted the audience with dance and vocal performances rich in cultural heritage.
Natalia Girenko, curator of the African community, expressed her gratitude to the students for their outstanding concert, recognising the best performers for their significant contributions and active involvement in university life.
In addition, several students received Letters of Gratitude from the People’s Front in recognition of their dedicated work, high level of professionalism in addressing challenges, and invaluable contributions to the development of the Youth project by the People’s Front.
