Evgeniya Karlovskaya recently participated in major scientific and educational forums held in Rio de Janeiro.
This year, Brazil, as the chair of BRICS+, hosted the Forums of Rectors from the League of Universities of Belarus, Brazil, and Russia, as well as BRICS+ Universities. The forum focused on language policy and collaboration among the three countries in the scientific and educational sectors. Belgorod National Research University (BelSU) currently has cooperation agreements with nine Belarusian universities, facilitating student exchanges and joint educational programs in economics.
“During the session titled “Language Palette,” a significant thesis was presented regarding the importance of language as an integral part of culture and communication. Productive discussions surrounded the establishment of robust cooperation mechanisms and the expansion of collaborative efforts among the three countries in science, technology, and human capital development,” commented Evgeniya Karlovskaya.
At the Forum of Rectors of BRICS+ Universities, which included participation from Konstantin Mogilevsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher èƵ of the Russian Federation, participants addressed issues related to health and quality of life in BRICS+ countries, language policy, innovations, and poverty alleviation. Karlovskaya highlighted BelSU’s successful projects with partner universities from Belarus, China, and Uzbekistan, emphasizing plans to broaden cooperation with universities across BRICS+ nations.
On the sidelines of the forums, BelSU signed a cooperation agreement with the Federal University Fluminense (Niteroi, Rio de Janeiro) focusing on education, science, and technology. Additionally, discussions were held regarding potential collaborations with the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro, centred around exchanging best practices and initiating joint projects in biotechnology, agriculture, and tourism.
