The prestigious contest on the 1C:Enterprise 8 platform recently concluded in Moscow at the 1C Development and Training Centre, showcasing the exceptional talent of students from around the globe.
Since its inception in 1995, the 1C Programming Olympiad has become a hallmark of excellence in programming. This year, Belgorod National Research University (BelSU) proudly represented itself through Kirill Panarin, a dedicated student from the Institute of Engineering and Digital Technologies. Out of over 2,500 participants, only 70 of the top performers were invited to compete in the finals, making Kirill’s achievement all the more impressive as he navigated fierce competition with 42 contenders vying for each spot.
Participants had the option to choose between two tracks: the student track, designed for those seeking to engage with potential employers despite limited industry experience, and the industrial track, aimed at budding professionals and interns. Kirill, who is also an employee of Applied Solutions LLC and supervises students during their industrial practice in the “Information Systems in Professional Activities” program at the BelSU Digital Department, opted for the industrial track. This choice allowed him to tackle more complex challenges that demanded innovative thinking.
During the finals, competitors not only completed rigorous tasks but also undertook the 1C: Professional test. They had the unique opportunity to engage with representatives from 1C, discussing career prospects and professional pathways within the industry. The finalists also collaborated with task authors to analyse their challenges, fostering a deeper understanding of practical applications.
For educators and mentors, the event featured a specialized round table focused on secondary vocational and higher education, highlighting current practices and new 1C solutions for educational advancement. Participants were also treated to a sightseeing tour of VDNH and the evening Moscow, providing a delightful conclusion to an enriching day.
