Representatives from Belgorod National Research University recently participated in a meeting of the Advisory Council for Interaction with National and Religious Organizations, convened under the Head of the Belgorod City Administration.
Held in the smaller hall of the city administration, the meeting focused on several key issues, including the harmonization of interethnic relations, state policies aimed at protecting and strengthening traditional Russian spiritual and moral values, the current migration situation in the city, and the employment opportunities for foreign students at Belgorod universities during the vacation period.
Roman Travin, a senior lecturer in the Department of International Relations, Foreign Regional Studies, and Political Science at Belgorod National Research University (BelSU), as well as the Head of the Open Analytics project, delivered a report on the challenges and prospects facing modern Russia in the realm of interethnic relations.
Olga Lyutova, Director of the International Information Centre within BelSU’s Department of International Cooperation, shared insights on various events organized by the university to enhance the work and leisure activities of foreign students during the summer holidays.
“Not all international students travel home for the summer,” Lyutova noted. “For those who remain in Belgorod, the university strives to provide a range of engaging activities – from work opportunities and educational events to excursions, karaoke nights, and board game tournaments. For these students, BelSU serves as a vital hub, fulfilling many of the social and recreational functions typically offered by organizations in their home countries.”
