The forum brought together more than 150 scientists from all over the world. For the first time the BNRU has organized such a large-scale conference. The co-organizers of the conference are St. Petersburg State University, St. Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics, and Armalit31 LLC.

The Chairman of the Program Committee of the Conference, Rustam Kaibyshev, Head of BNRU Laboratory of Mechanical Properties of Nanostructured and Heat-Resistant Materials, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, noted that the forum participants are leaders in the field of superplasticity and materials with ultrafine-grained structure. They will share their latest achievements, tell about the results of recent research. Scientists, graduate students and students of BNRU will present 17 papers at the forum.

On August 20, at the conference, T.G. Landon (England), Alexander Zhilyaev (Spain, Russia), L.S. Toth (France), Ruslan Valiev (Russia), K. Higashi (Japan) presented their reports. On the same day, a poster session took place. Within the framework of the conference, there were also sessions devoted to the memory of outstanding scientists: Oscar Kaibyshev and Oleg Sherbi.
